We’ve Got Answers —
Because Pet Parenting Comes with Questions
Do I need to bring my patient records with me?
It is very helpful for us to have records beforehand.
We are happy to reach out to your veterinarian to get your recent records. When booking the appointment, please let us know who your vet is, and we will reach out to them. You can also send us your records at heyfriend@wagvetsc.com.
Do you accept Pet Insurance?
Yes, we accept all pet insurance providers at WAG Vet!
How long will the appointment take?
A typical appointment will take 30-45 mins. We also offer the convenience of Flexible Care Appointments!
What services does your hospital offer?
You can see a full list of services HERE. Please feel free to call us if you need additional information on any of the services listed!
Will you see patients with pre-existing conditions?
Yes, we will. Our team not only has extensive experience in managing these patients, but we also have strong relationships with veterinary specialists in our area.
What is a Flexible Care (Drop-Off) Appointment?
A Flexible Care Appointment lets you drop your pet off with us and go about your day while we handle their exam, diagnostics, or treatment. It’s designed for busy pet parents who still want top-tier care — just on their schedule. This extra time with our team also allows your pet to settle in and get comfortable with the clinic at their own pace, making the visit less stressful and more positive. We’ll keep you updated, reach out with any findings or recommendations, and have your pet ready to head home with a wag and a full report when you return. It’s convenience, without cutting corners.
What is your payment policy?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We also accept CareCredit. Learn more about our Payment Options.
What is your Cancellation/Late/No Show Policy?
We value your time and strive to keep appointments running on schedule. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at least 24 hours before your appointment. We can reschedule your visit or convert it to a drop-off appointment when possible.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may be considered a no-show. We may need to reschedule your visit or work your pet into the schedule for an additional fee, depending on availability.
Missed appointments without notice will require a deposit of $70 for a regular exam and $47 for a recheck exam. The deposit will be applied to your next appointment but will be forfeited if that appointment is missed.
Do you offer same day appointments?
Yes, we do! Appointments can be made online or by calling us at 803.233.7283.
Does my dog need to be on a leash? Does my cat need to be in a carrier?
For your protection and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must arrive in an appropriate cat carrier.
What’s the difference between general practice and urgent care at WAG Vet?
General practice is your pet’s routine care — wellness exams, vaccines, dental cleanings, and planned procedures, all scheduled during daytime hours.
Urgent care is for those “uh-oh” moments that aren’t quite emergencies but still can’t wait. Think limping, ear infections, vomiting, or sudden changes in behavior.
WAG Vet urgent care hours:
🕔 Monday–Friday: 5PM–9PM
🕚 Saturday: 11AM–9PM
Same trusted team, just after-hours and ready for the unexpected. Not sure which you need? Give us a call — we’ll help you figure it out.
